In light of my last blog, I though I would share this little nugget that God gave me some decades ago.

We Christians are familiar with the cross and all that it stands for…Right? We know that God wanted a perfect ‘spotless’ lamb for this sacrifice: nothing less than absolute perfection would do. So, our precious Saviour, Jesus The Christ, is hanging on the cross paying for our sin…This, we all know, but have you ever wondered why He said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”? It’s simple, even at that late stage on the cross, Jesus still had to be obedient to His Father, and, as Bible readers know, to not forgive is a sin!

If Jesus had not forgiven them, He would have committed a sin, and we all know what the consequences of that would have been…

“Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being the perfect sacrifice, the only sacrifice, that could win forgiveness for the sin of the whole world.”
