This is so sad. I speak as an ex snooker player…
Alex was a genius at the game, no one can doubt that. How sad, he was not so good at living.
In Alex we can see a typical wasted life. Tortured by who knows what. Fighting for everything. How different it would have been if he had surrendered his life to Christ. Think about it…That much talent in Jesus’ hands. Alex would not only have been one of the greatest snooker players the world has ever seen, but he would have been a great ambassador for God’s Kingdom. A true evangelist and a happy man.
We can all take heart in the fact that God is true to His word which states, “Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” My hope is that Alex made that call. If he did, he will now be in a far better place than he ever knew here on earth. Free from all pain, hurt and suffering. Free from the need for excesses that must have contributed to his early death.
So, farewell Alex, I look forward to meeting you later, in the Kingdom of God that awaits all those who call on the name of the Lord.
